Thompson’s Gallery in Aldeburgh is holding a solo exhibition by the hugely popular artist Terence Clarke. We have been exhibiting Terence’s wonderfully colourful and vibrant paintings for over twenty years and he has a large and very loyal following who certainly will not be disappointed by these stunning works. In this particular exhibition we are showing works from Terence’s travels around Europe and the US, including several paintings from Port d’Olon near Cassis and Theoule sur Mer on the Cote d’Azur. He is hugely inspired by the South of France and there are many wonderful and atmospheric landscapes, which we have come to expect from him, in the exhibition. He has also painted scenes from Holland, more specifically Sloten and Maccum in Friesland and in addition to this there are many beautiful still lives, painted boldly in a style reminiscent of Cezanne of whom of course Terence is a great admirer. There is also a stunning seascape from Cape Cod which catches the essence of the north east coast perfectly.
Alongside being busy painting he is featured in the June edition of Artists and Illustrators, a publication he regularly contributes to.
