Local business to promote importance of hearing health throughout May
One local company is offering its expertise to the public for free at an event to encourage better hearing to people in and around the Ipswich area.
Award winning, family run company, The Hearing Care Centre, is passionate about raising awareness of the importance of looking after your hearing health. To encourage the local community to take action towards better hearing, The Hearing Care Centre’s team have organised a free to attend Hearing Care Week at their flagship practice at Upper Brook Street, Ipswich between Monday 13th and Saturday 18th May 2019.
Attendees with pre-booked appointments will be able to benefit from a complimentary appointment with an expert audiologist, who will conduct a full hearing assessment, offer advice and guidance based upon the results and make personalised recommendations on solutions that could lead them on the path to better hearing.
Action on Hearing Loss found that many more people could benefit from hearing aids than are currently doing so - only around 40% of people who need hearing aids have them, and studies show that over time untreated hearing loss can lead to isolation and depression.
Karen Finch, founder and Managing Director of The Hearing Care Centre, was keen to point out why people should consider coming along: “Too often we hear patients saying "My hearing is ok, if I just concentrate hard enough”, but hearing loss at any level can lead to exhaustion and even cognitive decline resulting in conditions such as dementia and depression. Having your hearing assessed once every two years, just as you would your eyes, ensures that you are hearing to your full potential and most importantly staying healthy!”
