Save the Children Aldeburgh branch held a centenary lunch at the Aldeburgh Yacht club on Thursday 21st March.

A hundred invited guests enjoyed a lovely lunch at a wonderful venue on the first day of Spring.

Two speakers were invited to join the gathering;

Dr Lucy Walker from The Britten-Pears Foundation discussed Britten’s charitable giving and contributions to humanitarian causes and Libby Kennard MBE shared her experiences of 27 years working in the field for Save the Children Fund.

There was a wonderful raffle with prizes donated by the various local businesses and supporters of the charity and the star prize was given by the Wentworth hotel.

The Committee would like to thank all who supported the lunch and all who contributed with prizes and the grand total raised on this occasion in excess of £2500 will be directed to helping the work of Save the Children in Mozambique and neighbouring countries.
