8th June – 7th July 2019
Thompson’s Gallery in Aldeburgh is holding its Annual Exhibition and are showing a varied and enticing collection of works by our most popular artists, with some being more experienced and then some younger talent coming through like Ania Hobson who was showing her paintings at the Venice Biennale this year and won the BP Young Portrait Award in 2018. We also have striking seascapes by Maggie Hambling who is an artist who goes from strength to strength carrying the torch for contemporary British painting. As you would expect from Thompson’s Gallery, Aldeburgh we will be showing a large collection of contemporary Scottish artists such as Robert Kelsey, Judith Bridgland, Jo Hargan, James Harrigan and Jenny Matthews. Representing Sweden in the exhibition are the wonderful fresh and atmospheric oil paintings by Brita Granstöm, who studied at the prestigious Konstfacket in Stockholm. Our Annual Exhibitions are always hugely popular and a great opportunity for seasoned buyers to find an addition to their collection or for new buyers to the market to test their mettle. We will be showing many artist from some of the most prestigious art societies in both England and Scotland, including the RBA, The Pastel Society, the RA and the ROI, PAI and the RSA, RGI.
