Woodbridge Amazons invite women to an
England Rugby Warrior Camp
With the new season approaching, England Rugby’s Inner Warrior campaign is returning to harness the power women can bring to rugby and Woodbridge Rugby Club, home of the Amazons women’s rugby team, is offering women a dynamic trial rugby session. It will introduce them to the basic skills of rugby through fast-paced team games and drills, all within a fun, friendly and commitment-free environment.
DATE/TIME: Wednesday 12 September @ 1900-2100
LOCATION: Woodbridge Rugby Club, Hatchley Barn, Orford Road, Bromeswell, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 2PP.
Women of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels are invited to meet and bond with like-minded individuals through a shared love of exercise and challenge.
As Woodbridge Amazon’s Captain Claire Brickley says “These Camps are a great outlet for women to express themselves and their inner strength through sport, whether that is through a passion for rugby or their desire to get fit. Rugby develops mental toughness which helps build resilience and self-confidence. The strong bonds that are formed between team-mates and the support of others builds self-esteem through the supportive environment amongst the players”.
Katy Daley-Mclean, England Rugby international, agrees: “Rugby is incredibly inclusive, with the range of positions on the pitch requiring different attributes and skills to be played successfully. It encourages women from all backgrounds and physical statures to come together and bond through the sport.
England Rugby’s Inner Warrior campaign is designed to increase the number of women engaging in rugby, whether that is through playing, coaching or refereeing. The camps teach participants key introductory skills and drills for rugby, with help on hand every step of the way.
All you’ll need to take part are a pair of trainers, your usual workout gear and a ‘have a go’ attitude.
