Pot et Fleur Kintsugi Style
Long Melford, is 10:30
In Japan, broken pottery is often repaired with gold lacquer. These visible repairs are seen as part of the history of the object, highlighting the cracks and symbolising fragility, strength and beauty. We can apply the philosophy of Kintsugi to our own lives by embracing our imperfections. In the first half of this workshop we repair a pot Kintsugi style and learn more about the Kintsugi philosophy. After which we celebrate springs opening buds by creating a vibrant spring arrangement for our pot. This is a unique workshop in which you will create a real talking point for your home or to give as a gift. Limited spaces available.
Entry: £70 Cost includes all materials and light refreshments

Around the world in song - a concert to lift the spirits
St Mary's Church, Market Hill, Woodbridge IP12 4LP 7.30pm
Come on a journey of song with a choir of Woodbridge singers created specially for this concert. Joining them will be guests Scunsulata from Norfolk. These two groups will present a concert of exquisite and enchanting harmony singing. Local choirmaster Chris Rowbury has taken 50 local singers on a Singing Safari. They have been gathering songs from across the globe. The group have polished these songs and are now ready for a performance. The performance will draw on musical traditions from around the world. Thrill to rhythmic songs from Africa and uplifting gospel from the US. Sink into sumptuous harmonies from Eastern Europe. Swoon to the sweet exotic sounds of the Pacific. This promises to be an evening of singing to stir the soul and warm the heart. "Well, what a resounding success! The guy sitting next to me didn't believe it was a scratch choir." Audience member, March 2017. “I enjoyed every minute of our rehearsals and the performance. I wouldn't have missed it for anything. It is hard to explain to people how one person can get an eclectic mix of people singing beautiful music in next to no time!” Singing Safari member. Chris Rowbury has 30 years’ experience as a patient, charismatic teacher. He has a relaxed style laced with plenty of humour. Chris founded local community choir The OK Chorale in 2011.
