2016 VisitEngland Awards for Excellence

The family-owned Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa on the Suffolk/Essex border has won a coveted Silver Award in the Best Business Tourism Venue category at the prestigious national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2016 Ceremony. Celebrating excellence across the industry, the ceremony - held for the first time this year during English Tourism Week - announced 16 winners to an audience of prominent representatives from all areas of the tourism industry, including Best Tourism Experience and Best Visitor Attraction.

The Silver Award is one of the highest accolades for Excellence in Tourism in England which VisitEngland can bestow.  Managing Director of Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa, Susanna Rendall and Director Robert Rendall were presented with their Silver Award by the Chairman of VisitEngland, Penelope, Viscountess Cobham, at a glittering Awards Ceremony which was held on 8 March 2016 at The Winter Gardens, Blackpool. 

Commenting on the Award, Sally Balcombe, CEO of VisitBritain and VisitEngland said ‘We received hundreds of applications of an extremely high quality this year. Winning a Silver is therefore a considerable achievement and one of the highest accolades for excellence in tourism which VisitEngland can bestow. I warmly congratulate Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa’.
Speaking on behalf of SbN Hotel, Managing Director, Susanna Rendall said, ‘We are delighted to be recognised by Visit England as one of the best business tourism venues in England. The hotel was one of five worthy shortlisted finalists in the running for the Best Business Tourism Venue award.

The final placements were:
Gold Award – Crewe Hall (QHotels)
Silver Award – Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa
Bronze Award – Dartington Hall
Highly Commended – Seaham Hall Hotel and Highbullen Hotel Golf and Country Club
