the New Wolsey Theatre
The New Wolsey Theatre are delighted to announce ANOTHER brand new rock’n’roll pantomime for 2017-2018…
RED RIDING HOOD – THE NEW ROCK’N’ROLL PANTO
Thursday 23 November 2017 to Saturday 27 January 2018
Written by Peter Rowe, and performed in the New Wolsey Theatre’s iconic actor-musician style, this brand new adaptation of the classic tale is brimming with fun, frolics… and flour!
Red Riding Hood owns the best bakery in Soggy-Bottom-In-The-Marsh but when the village party is scattered by the return of the legendary lone Wolf, the wicked Sir Jasper de Ville demands more rent to pay for the added security. So it’s all hands to the pudding bowl as everyone lends a hand at the bakers, even her grandmother, Dame Millicent Merry , famous for her firm buns and magnificent dumplings! Meanwhile, a handsome woodcutter has arrived in town, who isn’t all he seems to be…Can Red Riding Hood outwit Sir Jasper, avoid the clutches of the sly old wolf and find romance with the mysterious forester?
Laced with massive hits including NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK, DON’T STOP BELIEVING, SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT, HEATWAVE, DANCING IN THE DARK and ROLLING IN THE DEEP, played live by the multi-talented cast, all the ingredients are in place for truly scrumptious festive treat.
Alongside this news, the team is also excited to announce the third year of sponsorship with Ipswich Building Society. The company kindly agreed to sponsor the New Wolsey Theatre’s sell-out panto for three years, with 2017 marking the third year.
Richard Norrington, CEO at Ipswich Building Society has said: “We’re proud to sponsor the New Wolsey Theatre Rock ‘N’ Roll Panto, surely a must-see over the festive period and something we look forward to being part of each year. Through our relationship with the New Wolsey Theatre, itself a registered charity, we’ve been able to provide our members with many special experiences and increased access to the theatre throughout the year, as part of our All In membership programme.”
