Debenham High School presents
'A midsummer night's dream'
While audiences in Ipswich are being enthralled by Sir Trevor Nunn's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the New Wolsey Theatre the accessibility and wide appeal of 'The Bards' work is being explored in a different way by Debenham High School.
Set in the grounds of the Tudor Crows Hall at Debenham it is a setting that would evoke the 'green eyed monster' of many a professional theatre company.
The play is about the clash between the human world and the world of the fairies. Comedy and romance abound as love potions are applied, misapplied, and at least one person is 'translated' into an ass! Hopefully, though, all will be well that ends well...'
Students have been working hard on their preparations for this, from early in the summer term. With acting, music and dance within the show we hope that there will be something for everyone.
The company of performers is made up of students from all years, as well as professional musicians. Please come along and support the students and the school to ensure that this opportunity remains a permanent fixture.
Audience members will enjoy live music from 6.00pm being performed by students in the grounds of the Hall, and can bring a picnic and explore the beautiful gardens. At 7.00pm the play will commence in the main barn.
