Christies Care hosts Community Day
with Circus and activities for the elderly
and adults with Learning Disabilities
Christies Care, the national live-in care provider, is organising a Community Day of activities for the elderly and people with learning disabilities and autism on Friday 20th April between 10am and 3pm at Trinity Park in Ipswich.
The Community Day includes a performance by Circus Petite, the Suffolk touring Circus, which will include the amazing Justo the Clown, jugglers, rope walking, hula-hooping, magic, fire displays and lots more. Around the circus performance, there will also be activities including balloon modelling, face painting and a performance from Ipswich Academy’s iDrum. There will also be pamper sessions available throughout the day from Suffolk New College.
There is also an Afternoon Tea, starting at noon, for those who don’t fancy the circus, this will include pamper sessions from Suffolk New College and entertainment from Saxmundham Free School and Baricade.
The event is completely free to attend, although advance booking is essential.
Lin Barnes, Director at Christies Care, explains: “Following two successful events for adults with learning disabilities with Circus Petite over the last two years, we’re excited to have widened the activities we offer to extend the fun and sense of occasion to the elderly. We want to create an environment that is welcoming, entertaining and filled with joy. A good day out for all concerned. A huge thank you to Trinity Park for providing their facilities free of charge in support of this event.”
David Bean, co-founder of Circus Petite, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Christies Care on another, even bigger event. The last two events have brought joy to so many and been great fun for our performers. We’re looking forward to a great event to top off our Easter tour!”
