Bruisyard Hall teams up with The Turks Head

for Medieval Feast

As part of the 2017 Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival fringe events programme, Bruisyard Hall has teamed up with The Turks Head in Hasketon to put on a Medieval Feast for just 24 diners on 4th October.

The sumptuous menu prepared by The Turks Head’s expert chef, Mauli Dwivedi, includes a range of show-stopping dishes made from the best local ingredients, including: Blythburgh Suckling Pig, Aspic glazed pike, Tide Mill flour trencher bread, Gressingham Duck ragu and Muntons malt sticky pudding.

The event will take place in the dining room of the historic Bruisyard Hall, which dates back to 1354. Tickets for the feast are £65 with the option to add on bed and breakfast at the Hall from £150.

Mauli Dwivedi has an award winning global profile. He trained in classic French cooking in India. His early career was under the guidance of Antonio Carluccio and, following a move to England in the early 2000’s, he’s built an enviable resume at restaurants across the UK. His most recent position was as Head Chef at the Black Lion in Long Melford where he cemented his reputation for top quality locally sourced dishes.

Jemima Withey, Owner of The Turks Head, commented: “Mauli is such a talented Chef and has a really clear vision for the banquet. We’ve been tasting the dishes and they are utterly sublime. It really is going to be a stunning event, showing off fabulous local produce in an unusual and exciting way.”

Robert Rous, owner of Bruisyard Hall said: “The dining room will look spectacular, the food will be impressive and our team will make it a special evening for the lucky 24 guests who snap up the tickets first!

“Bruisyard Hall’s fascinating history creates the perfect backdrop for a medieval banquet. From the beautifully carved beams dating back to the time when the Hall was home to six Poor Clare nuns who were evicted by Henry VIII in 1539, to the priest holes designed to keep Roman Catholic priests hidden from the prying eyes of hunting Protestants.”

Tickets are available from 01728 639 000 or email info@bruisyardhall.com
