Adrian Rawlinson, a director of Achieve More Media Ltd, and publisher of  the Essential Suffolk magazine has won £10,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice in a national competition.

After 3 months and various rounds of voting  Adrian came first in the Mountain Warehouse Charity Challenge after receiving the most public votes;  beating 168 entrants from across the country.

The competition was open to anyone who had completed an outdoor challenge for charity in 2016  and Adrian cycled 315 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne to London in under 24 hours stopping only for refreshments.

Adrian undertook his challenge to raise money for St Elizabeth’s Hospice, an independent charity that provides support to both families and patients living with a progressive illness. The charity is particularly close to Adrian’s heart as he lost his sister Catherine in March and in her final days Adrian saw first hand the amazing work of her Hospice carers.

The cheque for £10,000 was presented at the Hopsice on Foxhall Road, Ipswich and was received by Mark Millar, St Elizabeth's chief executive with Jo Rodgers from the Hospice fundraising team. It was Jo who came across the competition and encouraged Adrian to enter his ride.

Mark Neale, founder of Mountain Warehouse comments, “Once again it has been a great year for the Charity Challenge. Mountain Warehouse is dedicated to supporting charities across the country and we hope to continue this long in to the future.”

In addition to the £10,000 Adrian has also rasied a further £3,200 in sponsorship. Donations can still be made at  http://giving.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/adrians-ride-24
